Appearance: Light bronze in color, with hints of golden/red.

Scent: After pouring a shot of the buffalo trace bourbon into an old-fashioned glass, I could immediately smell the great aroma of the bourbon. It wasn’t overpowering like some of the cheap bourbons that most of us are used to drinking, but it definitely had a presence. The first scent that you will most likely pick up on is the sweet smell of vanilla, that comes from the rye and corn. Then it its followed by a bit of a spicy/peppered scent, from the oak barrels. Overall, the scent is exactly what you would be looking for in a bourbon.

Taste: The first sip will warm the mouth gently, but doesn’t burn. The sweetness of the the vanilla stands out immediately, with a taste of honey. The oak offers a perfect amount of spice to the bourbon. The body also shows hints of oranges, tobacco, mint, and a bit of smokiness. Although you most bourbons don’t have much of a smokey flavor, I think it really compliments the overall taste of the bourbon. It finished very smooth, with aftertastes of vanilla and fruit, while it warms your throat as it goes down, without burning.

Overall Impression: Buffalo Trace is an amazing Bourbon Whiskey, with smooth aroma and taste. I wouldn’t expect anything less from a company that has won so many Distillery of the year awards! We highly recommend trying Buffalo Trace Bourbon Whiskey if you haven’t yet. The price for a bottle of Buffalo Trace Bourbon is very fair for the quality you get, even though you might have to spend a couple more bucks than what you are used to. Trust us its worth it!

Try one of these recipes next time you pick up a bottle of Buffalo Trace Bourbon -

If you haven’t ever tried sweet tea, I recommend you visit the south… Florida, Atlanta… anywhere down that way will work. Once you’ve tried sweet tea, you’re next step will be to sample the sweet goodness of FireFly Sweet Tea Vodka. Just pour it over ice and take it down. Honestly… it tastes like tea.

I know many of you out there are probably thinking, I wonder if that’d be good with lemonade, like in an “Arnold Palmer”, and yes, it is. In fact, there’s already a name for it. It’s called a “Daley Palmer” on behalf of John Daley’s alcoholic ass.

So next time you’re in the store and you see some sweet tea vodka, pick it up and try it out!

Please feel free to post some of your favorite Halloween Drink Recipes below by adding a comment! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Ghostini
1 oz cream
1 oz vanilla vodka
1 oz Malibu rum
.25 ounce Black Sambuca

Pour all ingredients except Black Sambuca into a martini shaker full of ice. Shake to make frothy and strain into a martini glass. Pour a few drops of the black sambuca on the top for a dotted look.

Halloween Body Parts Punch Drink Recipe
10 oz vodka
10 oz melon liqueur
10 oz raspberry schnapps
10 oz blue curacao
15 oz cranberry juice
Sour mix (can buy or make your own. To make your own, its heavy sugar syrup (3 parts sugar with 2 parts water) added to one part lemon juice)
Rubber gloves (to make floating hands)
Grapes (to make eye balls)
Raisins

To make the frozen eye balls -
Cut several grapes in half and place a raisin in the center of each half. Place in each cube of an ice cube tray. Fill with water and freeze.

To make the frozen hand -
Fill the rubber glove with water and tie off the end. Place in the freezer for several hours. When completely frozen, peel back the rubber from the glove and you now have a floating hand. Another option is to add food coloring in with the water when you fill the glove, this will create a “monster’s” hand to float in the punch.

To make the punch -
Pour in the vodka first. Add about ¾ cup sour mix. Gradually add in the rest of the ingredients. Add more sour mix to taste. Mix well. Add the frozen hand and eyeballs.
